Imasoto

Background

Imasoto was a well-known Spanish company founded in 1969, specializing in the manufacturing of high-end technical furniture for office, factory, and home environments. Over the years, the company exported its products internationally and was highly regarded for its design and architectural focus.

However, due to poor sales during the COVID-19 period and a significant increase in the cost of premium raw materials, the family-owned business was ultimately forced to enter bankruptcy proceedings.

Equipment highlights

The factory included a TrumaBend V130 – Press brake, Panasonic Robot Arm YA-1 – Industrial robotic arm, Trumatic L3030 – Laser cutting machine, Trumatic L200 – Laser cutting machine, Mebusa Guillotine Shear – Guillotine shear, Hyster Forklifts – Forklifts, Giben Panel Saw – Automatic panel saw, Homag Optimat KL 77 A3/S2 – Edge banding machine and a IMA BIMA 410 – CNC machining centre.

Transaction

The production site consisted of two separate factories, one dedicated to metalworking and the other to woodworking.

Unfortunately, Imasoto was unable to sell the remaining stock before the insolvency process advanced. As a result, in addition to handling the sale of movable assets, PIPM was tasked with clearing out, recycling, or scrapping all remaining items in the factory and delivering both facilities completely “broom-swept” (clean and empty). Since the buildings were owned by the family – who urgently needed to repurpose the space for a new business venture – they trusted PIPM to execute the work efficiently and within the agreed timelines.

Procedure

Thanks to its extensive international buyer network, advanced remarketing tools, and partnerships with dismantling companies and international transport providers, PIPM managed to sell all machinery in a very short period of time. Once the machines were sold and removed, PIPM proceeded to: create a complete inventory of the remaining stock; classify and organise the materials; load and transport all items to various warehouses and prepare them for subsequent sale to customers worldwide.

Result

PIPM worked closely and effectively with the Soto family to prepare the facilities for the next chapter in their business journey. Both buildings were delivered completely empty and clean, exactly as agreed. All machinery were sold – mainly within the Iberian Peninsula, but also to buyers as far away as Greece and Ukraine. The remaining stock and products will continue to be distributed and sold in international markets.
