EDEKA

Background

The large food chain EDEKA had previously bought a number of business units from Kaiser’s Tengelmann, including a meat processing plant with some 90 employees in North Rhine-Westphalia. This company had to be closed down due to overcapacity.

Equipment highlights

The main assets; thermoforming packaging lines, vacuum fillers, ham packaging machines, tumblers, cooking chambers, packaging lines, and other meat processing equipment.

Transaction

The purchase department of EDEKA was searching for a reliable partner who purchases all the machinery and ensures a safe and complete dismantling and site clearance process in short term notice.

Procedure

PIPM sold all 500 assets, dismantled them, and loaded them onto the buyers’ trucks.

Result

The premises were left broom clean. The smokehouses were also sold and removed.
